Towanda Busy Bees 4-H Club News

by Craig Morris, club reporter

The Towanda Busy Bees 4-H Club meeting on April 22 was called to order at 7:03. The meeting was held at the Stan and Janetta Bauer Alpaca Farm near Ellsworth. The program was a tour of the Alpaca farm where we learned that unlike llamas that are used as pack animals, alpacas are used for their fur and that they have a lower micron count than sheep making the fur less itchy.

We are reminded that project enrollments are due May 1st. We also decided to have the Towanda District Library clean up on Saturday, May 10.  Our Red Cross Blood Drive will be Tuesday, June 24, 3-7:00 p.m. and we hope the community will respond to our calls to donate. Pat Pulokas, 728-2118 will take appointments. More details will come out in the next newsletter.

The Busy Bees meet each month on the 3rd Tuesday at 7:00, usually at the Towanda Community Building. Our next meeting will be held on Tuesday, May 20 at 7:00 pm at the CB
